I. Basic Information
1. Core ingredients: soluble sulfur + 1%-5% mineral oil / vegetable oil (such as white oil, cycloalkane oil, etc.).
2. Key features: Stable at room temperature without crystallization; exhibits superior solubility and dispersibility in rubber compared to conventional sulfur; has similar vulcanization activity but requires the addition of accelerators or activators; the oil content can improve the flowability of the rubber.
3. Implementation standards: Refer to GB/T18952-2017, with additional requirements for oil content, dispersibility, and thermal stability.
II. Core Features
1. Enhance dispersibility and reduce bloom: The oil component helps ensure even dispersion, preventing sulfur precipitation and guaranteeing uniform appearance and vulcanization.
2. Eliminate dust pollution and improve the operating environment: The granular form is dust-free, reducing health risks and the potential for dust explosions.
3. Stable vulcanization performance: The long-chain structure decomposes slowly, allowing for easy control of the vulcanization rate, reducing over-vulcanization and under-vulcanization, and ensuring stable mechanical properties.
4. Assists in improving processability: The oil acts as a softening agent, reducing the Mooney viscosity of the rubber compound and enhancing the flow properties during mixing and molding.
III. Usage Restrictions
1. Dosage control limits: ≤ 3–5 parts of the total rubber amount. Excessive amounts may reduce hardness and elasticity, impair oil/solvent resistance, and should be adjusted according to the specific rubber type.
2. Process parameter limitations: Mixing at 100–120℃ for 3–5 minutes to prevent the volatilization of oil components; not suitable for low-temperature vulcanization below 120℃.
3. Safety and Storage Restrictions: Flammable; store away from sources of ignition and below 50℃; do not store together with strong oxidizers. Wear oil-resistant gloves during handling, and ensure adequate ventilation in the workshop.
